The Issue:

We provided a series of inter-connected activities that assisted them in their decision making process, including:
• Analysis and forecast of the ship type, size categories and frequency of vessels visiting the port
• Import and export analysis of cargo volumes nearby region and the specific port
• Impact assessments scenarios, including the impact of no port infrastructure or dredging of the port and port approach to increasing depths. Factors considered included the costs to the shipper, lead times, time precision and dry port services.
• Regular workshops with the leadership team of the port, where changes in the port’s business environment were analysed, discussed and possible measures reviewed.

The port was able to understand the future requirements of their port and how to develop to meet demand and improve efficiency.
