 CARING FOR SEAFARERS

 

The Mission to Seafarers is delighted to be nominated as the charity partner for the prestigious Lloyd’s List Asia Pacific Awards. The Mission has been present in Singapore since 1924, and also operates in Hong Kong, Japan, Myanmar, South Korea, Philippines and Thailand. We are the largest provider or port based welfare facilities in the world, being present in over 200 ports in 50 countries, caring for seafarers of all ranks, nationalities and beliefs. We offer practical, emotional and spiritual support to seafarers through ship visits, seafarers’ centres and a range of welfare and emergency support services.

 

Over the years we have increased support for mental health to help address the high levels of suicide. All our Chaplains are qualified in counselling skills and our outreach services provide vital support for the families.
