Congratulations to the Global Freight Awards 2018 winners...

GFA Trophy 2016 Awards

Big winners from the night included Metro Shipping, which won two awards, and US technology-driven ‘start-up’ freight forwarder Flexport, which won the ‘Freight Forwarder of the Year’ award, a new category this year. Lord Tony Berkeley was also recognised for his outstanding service to the European rail freight industry

Publisher of Lloyd’s Loading List, Nick Marsh, commented: “We’ve seen exceptional quality across the board this year with technology playing an increasingly important part in the success of the companies that won. The other standout development is the increased internationalism of the awards, with over half of all entries coming from non-European domiciled businesses: the Global Freight Awards are truly global.”

Judges' testimonials

Global Logistics Emissions Council (GLEC)

The awards provide an opportunity for actors at all positions of the supply chain to set out and challenge their processes, successes and failures both internally and as part of a global-scale event and use it as part of a continuous improvement process. The winners then set a refreshed bar for everyone to strive to better in the following years.

Alan Lewis Director

The Global Freight Awards are important to the the freight industry because it gives recognition from a broad spectrum of industry stakeholders.

The Global Freight Awards are important because an industry as complex and dynamic as ours needs to be celebrated. It is not about soothing egos, as companies and individuals need to be told they are appreciated so they continue to excel in the business and inspire others to follow their lead.

Linton Nightingale Deputy Editor

British International Freight Association (BIFA)

I think that the Global Freight Awards are important because, as a Judge, I know that the awards are fairly and neutrally decided so the best entry wins.
